Philadelphia's newest Big Band, The South Philly Big Band, is comprised of the top working jazz musicians on the Philadelphia scene today, as well as up and coming young, talented musicians. Led by saxophonist Chris Oatts, the group is grounded in the music of Thad Jones, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington, and plays compositions penned anywhere from the 1920's to present day.
