Latin Jazz

Born in Bogotá, Colombia, she inherited a love of music from her brother, who was a music student at Los Andes University, and her mother, who sang popular Mercedes Sosa tunes as bedtime lullabies. After immigrating to the United States, Laura became involved in her school’s choirs and bands. As a high school student, she attended the Capital Area School for the Arts — a magnet arts school in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She also attended various PMEA festivals, where she had the privilege of working with Peter Eldridge, JD Walter, and Connaitre Miller.
