Laura Orzehoski Quartet ~ A Holiday Celebration

Laura Orzehoski is a Philadelphia-based trombonist who is currently enrolled in the Graduate Jazz Studies Program at Manhattan School of Music under the direction of Ingrid Jensen. She studies under trombonist Ryan Keberle as a full-time student at MSM. Laura is also an alumni at Temple University under the direction of Terell Stafford and studied under Rob Edwards. Laura is the former lead trombonist in the New York Youth Symphony Big Band, a member of the all-female big band, The Grace Fox Big Band and a former member of the Grammy nominated Temple University Jazz Band. She also leads her own group The Laura Orzehoski Quintet which performs locally at Jazz Festivals to more well-known venues like Chris’ Jazz Cafe.
More recently, Laura has performed at multiple venues across the East Coast with the Temple University Jazz Band at Rose Hall and Dizzy’s Jazz Club at Jazz at the Lincoln Center in New York City along with the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. Laura has had the pleasure of performing with The Grace Fox Big Band at Dizzy’s Jazz Club, Birdland Jazz Club, and the Center Stage in Times Square, New York City.

Although still a full-time student, Laura has had the pleasure to study with well-known trombonists Chris Crenshaw and Vincent Gardner of the Jazz at the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra along with local Philadelphia trombonists Randy Kapralick and Jarred Antonacci. She has studied under the lead trombonist of the Village Vanguard, Robert Edwards at Temple University. She currently studies with trombonist Ryan Keberle at MSM who is a member of the Maria Schneider Orchestra and voted the #1 Trombonist in the 2024 Downbeat Magazine Critics Poll. Laura is currently featured on the Grace Fox Big Band debut album "Eleven O’ Seven”. The band took the stage at Birdland Jazz in March 2022 to perform the original music of trumpeter Grace Fox and continues to play in New York City.

As the former lead trombonist in the NYYS Big Band, she has had the pleasure to play at Birdland with the ensemble in December 2021 and Dizzy’s Jazz Club in March 2022 featuring the famous saxophonist, Melissa Aldana, performing her original music. Laura also performed in multiple ensembles at Temple University including those under the direction of Terell Stafford, Robert Edwards, Steve Fidyk, and Mark Patterson. Laura is currently in ensembles led by Nicole Glover and James Saltzman at Manhattan School of Music. Laura is the bandleader for her Quintet across the Philadelphia and NYC area. Laura now resides in New York City while studying at MSM.
