Michael Kaplan is a highly accomplished trombonist, composer, bandleader, and educator based in Philadelphia, PA.
Michael Kaplan is recognized as one of the most vibrant up-and-coming talents in the Philadelphia area. His unforgettably emotion-packed composition style, unique sound, use of harmony, and technique on the trombone makes him to stand out as an exciting creative force. Michael has performed with a variety of ensembles at notable venues such as Jazz at Lincoln Center's Rose Hall and Dizzy's Club, The Kimmel Center's Verizon Hall, The MET, The Keswick, and many more.
Founded by Michael Kaplan in 2021, The Superband features some of Philadelphia’s finest creative musicians and is comprised of various different lineups and instrumentations. Primarily, the band performs as a 6-piece; two trombones, tenor saxophone, piano, bass, and drums.
Michael Kaplan & his Superband have performed Michael’s dynamic original music all over the tri-state area; in Philadelphia, Wilmington, Baltimore, New York City, and Washington D.C.; at notable venues such as Temple University, Penn State University, The Kennett Jazz Festival, The Black Squirrel Club, NYC Seven24 Collective, The Village Nightclub Lounge, Chris’ Jazz Cafe, West Chester University, The Philadelphia Music Alliance Gala, and many more.
Current members include Michael Kaplan, Andrew Sedlacsik, Jonathan Ragonese, Anthony Aldissi, Nicholas Krolak, and Michael Mester. The band has featured world-renowned artists such as John Swana & Jim McFalls, among many others.

Premier Tables:
The best seats in the house positioned directly in front of the performance stage (marked dark blue on the seating map).
Standard Tables:
Clear and unobstructed views of stage (marked purple on the seating map). A few tables have a partially obstructed view (marked light blue on the seating map).
Cocktail & Bar Area:
Seating at high-top tables and at the bar area available on a first come, first seated basis (marked green on the seating map). Tables may be shared for sold out shows. Two TV monitors with live video feed of the performance are conveniently located above the bar and cocktail areas.

Festival Seating:
Festival seating is our general admission ticket. The entire venue or a portion of the venue may be designated for festival admission. These tickets will guarantee you a seat for the show and you are free to sit anywhere in the venue based on a "first come, first seated" basis. This should also allow for larger groups to sit together.
