"The Dave Wilson Quartet is a Contemporary Jazz group led by the noted Tenor/Soprano Saxophonist, Educator and composer to further and bring to fruition the music and vision of Dave Wilson, the artist. Defying categorization, the music is "what sounds good and can communicate with the audience on a deep level...it's jazz". Born and raised in Bronxville, N.Y., Wilson has evolved into a striking saxophonist with chops and maturity of tone that invokes passions and enthusiasm when listening to his vocabulary in jazz. He has studied with the saxophonists Joe Lovano, Bill Barron, Ralph Lalama, Tim Price, Glenn Guidone, Tom Stroman, as well as with guitarist Steve Giordano. Dave Wilson offers high caliber, compelling, contemporary Jazz music with top notch, nationally and internationally known personnel known for their exciting improvisations, creative individualistic compositions, and unique arrangements of standards. A Dave Wilson concert is characterized by a high energy, contemporary musical happening, always followed by an incredibly impressed response from the audience at hand. The Dave Wilson Quartet has four great CDs out under their own name, inlcuding "Spiral" (released in 2010 on Summit Records), recorded with Phil Markowitz on Piano, Tony Marino on Bass, and Adam Nussbaum on Drums, all internationally acclaimed and renowned. Spiral received air play nationwide (Chartbound-top 55 for six weeks in Jazz Weekly countdown, and garnered many positive reviews, (including 3 and ½ stars from Downbeat Magazine, as well as a favorably from Jazz Times).

The New Dave Wilson Quartet released their latest recording "There Was Never" on the New York based ZOHO Music Label in 2016. Recorded at world renowned Red Rock Studios, Saylorsburg, Pa, it features an all-star lineup of Bobby Avey-Piano, Tony Marino-Bass, Alex Ritz-Drums (members of the Dave Liebman Group), performing six original compositions from saxophonist Dave Wilson plus unique and compelling interpretations of three well-known tunes. Subsequent to the release there were some great performances: CD releases at The Garage in Greenwich Village, NY and Chris' Jazz Cafe, master class/concert s at several Pennsylvania area colleges, appearances at the Bethlehem Musikfest, Washington D.C.'s Ronald Reagan Plaza, the Manassas Jazz Festival, among others. For some two months, the CD received radio airplay in some 40 different marketsacross the country,and for 6 weeks was in the top 50 of the nation-wide Jazz Weekly Jazz Radio Countdown!, reaching a high of #18 in the nation. It was in the Top 11 in Philadelphia's WRTI New Releases, for several weeks, reaching a high of number 5. The track "Cassidy" was #13 in WRTI'S countdown for the top 100 in 2016. There was also a great review in the February issue of famed Downbeat Magazine".

Appearing with Dave on this special return engagement will be an all-star lineup featuring Philadelphia's own, the great Dan Monaghan on Drums; the legendary Tony Marino (from the Dave Liebman group) on Bass; and one of the leading pianists on the East Coast, Kirk Reese.
