Kyle Tither Quintet
Jazz bassist and composer Kyle Tither has been performing since the age of 13. He started his musical education as a trombonist in the Pennsbury School District where he received multiple awards, including the Stan Kenton award for excellence in Jazz. After high school, Kyle attended Bucks County Community College, where he began his journey on the Double Bass. He then attended Temple University, studying with many of today’s Jazz greats, including David Wong and Bruce Barth. Kyle has studied privately with many of Philadelphia’s and New York’s top musicians in both bass and composition. Kyle has since been performing as a sideman for many of these greats around the Philadelphia area, including Tony Miceli, Larry Tamanini, Reverend Chris, Michael Arenella, and more. Inspired by great Jazz composers such as Billy Strayhorn, Wayne Shorter, Horace Silver, as well as a plethora of modern composers, Kyle has been performing his original compositions and arrangements with his own projects.
